Daniel S. Dukes
Daniel Dukes has thirty years of professional experience working on the state, local, and national political levels. Daniel is a retired Senior Vice President at the College of Charleston where he directed all relations with the South Carolina General Assembly, the Governor’s Office, and the United States Congress. Daniel has represented clients in higher education, health care, private industry, and non-profits since leaving the College of Charleston.
Daniel has considerable expertise in developing legislative and appropriations goals and strategies and working through the various stages of the legislative process. He also has considerable experience in private fundraising and has worked on several capital campaigns. Daniel has been successful in helping clients with passage of major pieces of legislation and gaining significant appropriations over his tenure. Appropriations that he has secured for his clients includes funding for construction and renovation of buildings, recurring funding for general operating funds, and recurring funding for various programs and projects. He has secured private funding for universities and non-profits.
Daniel has a B. A. Degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina. Daniel was named Distinguished Alumnus of the year in 2008 by the College of Charleston. He is married to Vicky S. Dukes and they have two daughters, Jarrett (33) and Jordan (18). The Dukes family resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.
