Shain Bobbitt

Shain has over two decades professional experience within the defense medical industry, beginning with his accomplished military career and continuing into the private industry. An extremely successful entrepreneur, Shain co-founded a highly prosperous medical device intellectual property incubation and distribution company that was named the fastest growing small business in North Carolina for 2011.

Shain’s pedigree is derived from serving as a Commander of a medical unit in combat and 8 years Special Operations Experience where he served as the first Medical Operations Officer and Executive Officer for the Medical Squadron of a Tier 1 Unit. During his tenure, Shain skillfully managed the Unit’s first Medical RDT&E project for the Army’s Medical Research and Materiel Command. He led all aspects of the project – from industry liaison to battlefield delivery. Shain was responsible for briefing every Army Level of Command up to the Surgeon General, as well as the FDA, to garner support and funding for expedited 510K and acquisition. Shain successfully led the fielding of the first hemostatic dressing (HEMCON) to SOF Soldiers at the outset of OEF in Afghanistan. The Tier 1 Troops with which Shain served carried this life-saving device into combat. Shain has since assisted in fielding 2 other similar life-saving hemostatic devices (Chitoflex and Combat Gauze), as well as physiological monitoring systems. Shain has specialized medical experience and training involving Weapons of Mass Destruction, including participating in numerous in Live Agent training events.

LTC Bobbitt served as an Army Medic for 5 years and Medical Service Corps Officer for 19 years. His awards include a Bronze Star and Legion of Merit. He holds a B.S. from Arkansas State University.
